Abstract
⺠Non-genomic E2's effect on Ca2+ transport in isolated mitochondria, in vitro study. ⺠E2 inhibited Na+-dependent Ca2+ efflux from mitochondria. ⺠E2 increased affinity of Na+/Ca2+ exchanger for Na+. ⺠E2 binds specifically to homogenous class of binding sites in NC and BS mitochondria. ⺠E2 acts directly on mitochondrial membrane and Na+/Ca2+ exchanger.
