Abstract
► Microglia have plastic expression of SR-A upon cerebral ischemia. ► SR-A contributes to the cerebral ischemic injury. ► Cerebral ischemic injury mediated by SR-A is NF-κB pathway-dependent. ► SR-A could control the microglia activation associated with brain ischemia. ► SR-A promotes ischemia-induced pro-inflammatory M1 microglia polarization.
