Abstract
⺠Neonatal DEX-treated females show delayed pubertal onset and altered estrus cycle. ⺠Neonatal DEX treatment inhibits GnRH mRNA expression in the POA. ⺠Neonatal DEX treatment increases GnIH receptors mRNA levels in the POA. ⺠Neonatal DEX treatment increases immunostained GnIH cell numbers in the DMH. ⺠GnIH through its receptors inhibits preoptic GnRH causing delayed pubertal onset.
