► Brain P450 reductase (CPR) is important in fear conditioning and memory. ► Brain-Cpr-null mice are more active than are wild-type in exploratory behavior assay. ► Brain-Cpr-null mice show deficit in activity suppression in fear-conditioning assay. ► Brain-Cpr-null mice have no change in pain threshold or spatial learning or memory.
