Abstract
⺠Chronic electrodes were implanted in the spinal cord and medulla of neuropathic rats. ⺠Spinal or dorsal column nuclei stimulation inhibits neuropathic manifestations. ⺠In rats with intact spinal cord they activate common spinal and supraspinal circuits. ⺠Chronic dorsal column lesion impairs equally both types of stimulation. ⺠Different transmitters are involved in the spinal and supraspinal mode of activation.
