Abstract
▶II-AVPNs were retrogradely labeled and functionally identified. ▶TRH caused a tonic excitatory inward current in II-AVPNs. ▶TRH significantly attenuated the phasic inspiratory outward currents of II-AVPNs. ▶The phasic inspiratory outward currents in II-AVPNs are mediated by glycine. ▶Under current clamp, TRH depolarized II-AVPNs and increased the firing rate.
