Abstract
â¶A number of receptor/ligand pairs have been implicated in the migration of transplanted stem cells toward regions of pathology in the mammalian brain. â¶Efforts at guiding the migration and differentiation of therapeutic stem cells into terminal cell types are ongoing. â¶Imaging stem cells in real time in vivo provides vital clues about their fate in vivo. â¶Extensive preclinical studies are crucial to ultimately test the potential of therapeutic stem cells in human settings.
