Abstract
â¶Electroconvulsive therapy improves motor symptoms in sporadic Parkinson's disease. â¶Electroconvulsive shock protects the nigrostriatal system against 6-OHDA toxicity. â¶Electroconvulsive shock stimulates the expression of GDNF in the substantia nigra. â¶GDNF is essential for electroconvulsive shock neuroprotective effect.
