Abstract
â¶Castration significantly reduced neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus of male rats. â¶Isolation significantly reduced neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus of male rats. â¶Serum testosterone was negatively correlated with neurogenesis among intact males. â¶Testosterone may dose-dependently buffer against the effects of social isolation.
