Abstract
â¶We measured changes in hippocampal expression of monocarboxylate transporters following BDNF injection in vivo. â¶MCT2 protein expression increased in parallel with the two immediate early gene products Arc and Zif268 involved in synaptic plasticity. â¶Concomitant increase in expression for PSD95 and AMPA receptor subunit GluR2/3 was also observed. â¶Changes in energy substrate supply occurs together with synaptic modifications.
