Abstract
â¶KO mice with Cav2.1 calcium channels ablated show reduced inhibitory glycinergic release at the lateral superior olive. â¶Cav2.1 KO mice over expressed L-type and N-type Ca2+ channels to compensate for the absence of P/Q-type Ca2+ channels. â¶Short term depression of IPSCs during repetitive high frequency stimulation was stronger, while recovery results much slower in KO compared to WT mice. â¶Pair pulse facilitation of IPSCs remained unchanged in KO mice.
