Abstract
ⶠhMT1 mice are used to model the DYT1 dystonia carrier state. â¶hMT1 mice show increased metabolic activity in olivocerebellar structures. â¶Cytochrome oxidase activity is decreased in hMT1 striatum and pallidum. â¶The DYT1 carrier state shifts energy demand to the olivocerebellar network. â¶The inferior olive may be a central node for basal ganglia-olivocerebellar interactions.
