Abstract
- Immobilization stress in younger rats is followed by a REM sleep rebound.
- In older rats (24-25 months), the same stress is not followed by a REM sleep rebound.
- Agomelatine pretreatment of older rats restores the stress-related sleep rebound.
- Agomelatine pretreatment in older rats also restores the beta-1 band deficit.
- Agomelatine treatment contributes to the homeostasis maintenance.
