Abstract
⺠Ethanol induces amnesia via inhibition of LTP, a form of synaptic plasticity. ⺠In this study, 4-methylpyrazole was used as an alcohol dehydrogenase inhibitor. ⺠4-Methylpyrazole allowed LTP in the presence of ethanol. ⺠Local metabolism to acetaldehyde may contribute to the ethanol-mediated amnesia.
