Abstract
⺠The effect of immobilization stress (IS) on growth and stress response was examined. ⺠IS was performed in the early or late postnatal period of the rat. ⺠IS in the early postnatal period induced a reduction in body weight. ⺠IS in the early postnatal period induced a large stress response in the adulthood. ⺠IS in the late postnatal period had little effect on growth and stress response.
