Abstract
⺠We determined rs139887 of sex-determining region Y-box 10 (SOX10) and early onset schizophrenia. ⺠A significant association in allele and genotype frequencies were found in schizophrenic patients, especially male patients. ⺠The C/C genotype of rs139887 was significantly associated with an earlier age of onset in male schizophrenics. ⺠SOX10 rs139887 may be related to the development of schizophrenia in a gender-specific manner.
