Abstract
⺠Studies have identified structural changes in the cerebellum in essential tremor. ⺠Among these changes is an increase in neurofilament-filled axonal swellings. ⺠We performed a quantitative Western blot analysis of postmortem cerebellar cortex. ⺠The phosphorylation state of neurofilament proteins differed in cases versus controls. ⺠These changes could be of mechanistic importance.
