Abstract
⺠Basal ganglia circuits are a locus of primary pathology in major depression. ⺠Early age of onset is associated with greater circuit abnormality. ⺠Duration of illness does not impact circuit function. ⺠Disrupted basal ganglia-cortical connectivity may contribute to symptom expression.
