Abstract
⺠Recorded response of sacral afferents to urethral fluid flow in anesthetized cats. ⺠Single unit firing rates declined during flow with a power law dependence on time. ⺠Firing rates increased with flow rates exhibiting a power law dependence on rate. ⺠First characterization of a new class of sensory receptors. ⺠Advances understanding role of urethral feedback in control of lower urinary tract.
