Abstract
► Recent research indicates a role for BDNF in LTP and memory. ► We employed a single-trial passive avoidance learning task in the day-old chick. ► 12.5 μg/mL BDNF injected after training lead to enhanced recall 24 h later. ► The same dose also enhanced recall when injected after a reminder trial. ► Thus, exogenous BDNF facilitates both consolidation and reconsolidation of memory.
