Abstract
⺠We used liposomal clodronate to deplete monocytes in a murine model of hypothermic brain injury. ⺠Treatment with liposomal clodronate causes a decrease in macrophage infiltration at the injury site. ⺠Macrophage depletion leads to delayed reformation of the blood brain barrier after injury.
