Abstract
⺠Class I antiarrhythmic drugs produced a dose-related spinal anesthetic effect. ⺠The ranking of potency was bupivacaine > flecainide > quinidine > mexiletine. ⺠Moreover, flecainide, quinidine and bupivacaine produced similar durations of action. ⺠These drugs may be potential candidates for developing new local anesthetics.
