Neuronal activity reflecting progression of trials in the pre-supplementary motor area of macaque monkey: An expression of neuronal flexibility

► We studied the unit activity in pre-SMA of monkeys performing two visuomotor tasks. ► The first task involved three visual stimuli, the second one four visual stimuli. ► A group of cells, active in the first task, became silent in the second one. ► An involvement of pre-SMA in reflecting progression of trials is suggested.
