Abstract
⺠Glucose transporter glut1 is up-regulated by 6 h hypoxia 15.4-fold and by oxygen/glucose deprivation (OGD) 68.7-fold. ⺠Blood-brain barrier mouse cell line cerebEND expresses NMDA-receptor subunits NR1, NR2A, NR2B, NR2C, NR3A and NR3B. ⺠NMDA-receptor subunit NR1 is significantly up-regulated by 6 h OGD 2.9-fold. ⺠Glucose transporters glut1 as well as sglt1 contribute to the up-regulated glucose uptake after OGD. ⺠Addition of 10 μM MK801 during OGD attenuates glucose uptake after further 20 h reoxygenation significantly.
