Abstract
► Histamine excites neurons in the dentate nucleus (DN). ► This excitatory effect by histamine is blocked by histamine H2 receptor antagonist ranitidine but not by H1 receptor antagonist triprolidine. ► Histamine H1 receptor agonist 2-pyridylethylamine dose not elicit any response of DN neurons. ► Histamine H2 receptor agonist dimaprit has an excitatory action on the DN cells. ► This action of dimaprit is blocked by ranitidine.
