Abstract
⺠Histamine excites neurons in the dentate nucleus (DN). ⺠This excitatory effect by histamine is blocked by histamine H2 receptor antagonist ranitidine but not by H1 receptor antagonist triprolidine. ⺠Histamine H1 receptor agonist 2-pyridylethylamine dose not elicit any response of DN neurons. ⺠Histamine H2 receptor agonist dimaprit has an excitatory action on the DN cells. ⺠This action of dimaprit is blocked by ranitidine.
