Abstract

âº Cerebral capillaries are surrounded by the VEGF-expressing processes of astrocytes. âº Capillaries in the renal glomeruli were surrounded by VEGF-expressing processes of podocytes. âº VEGF is expressed by SMCs in larger vessels both in and outside the brain.
