Abstract
► We report A/I RNA editing at a single site in intron 7 of EAAT2 pre-mRNA. ► More editing in spinal cord and motor cortex from ALS patients. ► Editing site in a strong stem-loop opposite two overlapping polyadenylation signals. ► Editing and polyadenylation strongly correlated in motor cortex and cell culture. ► Editing predicted to release polyadenylation signals from the stem-loop.
