Abstract
⺠We examined effect of oxidative stress on adenosine clearance by astrocytes. ⺠Oxidative stress with SIN-1 decreased the adenosine uptake. ⺠There was no alteration in expression of a responsible transporter. ⺠The affinity of adenosine to the transporter was decreased. ⺠Decreased adenosine clearance contributes to elevation of its extracellular level.
