Abstract
⺠A present study examined effects of MSG on sympathetic nerve tones. ⺠Intragastric MSG increased renal and WAT sympathetic nerve activities in fasted-rats. ⺠Effects of MSG on sympathetic excitation was suppressed in vagotomized rats. ⺠We concluded the afferent pathway may be involved in the sympathetic activation of WAT and kidneys.
