Abstract
⺠First one using ERPs to study the time course of facial trustworthiness appraisal. ⺠C1 and LPC can be evoked during facial trustworthiness appraisal. ⺠C1 is related to face categorization driven by structural properties of the face. ⺠Greater amounts of motivated attention are allocated to untrustworthy faces. ⺠LPC effect was consistent with predication of emotion overgeneralization hypothesis.
