Abstract
ⶠPseudowords orthographically similar to color words generated behavioral Stroop effects. ⶠIncongruent pseudowords orthographically similar to color words elicited an N450 in the ERP data. ⶠParticipants distinguished pseudowords from color words well in a visual judgment task. ⶠPseudowords orthographically similar to color words can activate the meaning of color words. ⶠOrthography plays an important role in activating meaning of Chinese single-character words.
