Abstract
► We examined differences in taste nerve responses to NaCl in two strains of mice. ► Responses to NaCl consisted of amiloride-sensitive and -insensitive components. ► The NaCl response was larger in A/J than C57BL/6J mice at low concentrations. ► The strain differences in NaCl responses were due to amiloride-insensitive activity.
