Abstract

âº Whisker-mediated perception in rats is rapid and accurate. âº In generative tactile perception, rats create stimuli by their own whisker motion. âº In receptive tactile perception, rats collect signals from objects that move. âº Texture and vibration are two percepts that arise in the generative and receptive modes.
