Abstract

âº After peripheral nerve injury, neurons and Schwann cells switch to pro-regenerative state. âº Quality of reinnervation more than quantity determines functional recovery. âº Interactions of growth cone, extracellular matrix and Schwann cells are fundamental. âº Trophic and tropic support for motor and sensory axon regeneration.
