Abstract
ⶠThe chemokine receptor CCR5 is expressed in microglia, astrocytes and neurons. ⶠCCR5 expression can control the progression of certain infections in the CNS. ⶠEmerging evidence suggests a role of CCR5 also in neuroprotective mechanisms.
