Abstract
⺠p62 interacts with several proteins to regulate cellular signaling, protein trafficking, aggregation and degradation. ⺠p62 regulates the degradation of tau protein and aggregation to fibrils in Alzheimer's disease and other tauopathies. ⺠Lack of p62 protein provokes tau pathology in neurons. ⺠Decline in the level of cytoplasmic p62 protein in Alzheimer's disease can disturb signaling pathways.
