Abstract
⺠Masking patterns were measured for Monopolar (MP) and Phantom (PE) stimulation. ⺠Spread of excitation is different for PE stimulation relative to MP stimulation. ⺠Changes in excitation pattern are consistent with the pitch shift produced by PE. ⺠PE stimulation can be used to limit spread of excitation in cochlear implants.
