Abstract
⺠Pure-tone thresholds obtained with high-frequency resolution vary up to 15 dB. ⺠Narrow-band stimuli were predicted to be less influenced by this fine structure. ⺠Four different stimulus types were tested. ⺠Narrow-band noise and linear sweeps provided stable threshold estimates. ⺠Sinusoidally frequency modulated tone did not provide stable threshold estimates.
