Abstract
⺠Among vertebrates, ultrasonic hearing has been considered domain of mammals. ⺠We study the inner ears of 3 species of frogs that can detect ultrasound (US). ⺠We use immunohistochemistry & confocal microscopy. ⺠See several functional features that extend hearing bandwidth for US detection. ⺠Modifications also seen in 1 species of Lao torrent frog; presumptive US detector.
