Abstract
⺠Maturation of amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM) detection was compared. ⺠Average detection ability matured later for AM (>12 years of age) than for FM (<8 years of age). ⺠Performance consistency matured before 8 years of age for both AM and FM detection. ⺠Results are more consistent with sensory than with attentional development.
