Abstract
⺠Excitatory and inhibitory neurons show different convergence pattern in rat auditory cortex. âº; Most retrogradely-labeled parvalbumin-positive (PV+) cells originate within ±0.5 mm of the convergence site. ⺠PV-negative cells show anisotropic distribution with more distant rostral-caudal convergence (>2 mm). ⺠Highest density of PV+ cells was found in layers IV and V.
