Abstract
- Neospora caninummicrophage migration inhibition factor(NcMIF) was cloned and expressed in E. coli.
- Mutation of NcMIF at Pro2 leads to reduced oligomerization.
- NcMIF production is increased in a non-pathogenic clone of N. caninum.
- NcMIF production is upregulated by calcium ionophore and ethanol.
- NcMIF lacks typical MIF functions and does not bind to a MIF receptor.
