Abstract
⺠Sporogony of P. relictum (pSGS1, pGRW11) in mosquito Culex p. pipiens was investigated. ⺠Three strains of this parasite developed synchronously and completed sporogony in this vector. ⺠Ookinetes, oocysts and sporozoites of all strains were indistinguishable morphologically. ⺠Sporogony of the closely related lineages and different strains of P. relictum is similar. ⺠Phylogenies based on the cyt b gene can be used for predicting sporogony of avian malaria parasites.
