Abstract
► Teladorsagia circumcincta may utilise either aerobic or anaerobic metabolism. ► Pyruvate kinase (PK) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) were examined. ► PK activity predominated over PEPCK in both L3 and adult stages. ► Affinity for phosphoenolpyruvate and GDP was similar, but only PK utilised ADP. ► Kinetic properties of both enzymes appeared unaltered between L3 and adults.
