Abstract
⺠Teladorsagia circumcincta may utilise either aerobic or anaerobic metabolism. ⺠Pyruvate kinase (PK) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) were examined. ⺠PK activity predominated over PEPCK in both L3 and adult stages. ⺠Affinity for phosphoenolpyruvate and GDP was similar, but only PK utilised ADP. ⺠Kinetic properties of both enzymes appeared unaltered between L3 and adults.
