Abstract
⺠First occurrence of Acanthamoeba similar to genotypes T4, T5, and T2/T6, in BrasÃlia, Brazil. ⺠Ten isolates grew at 37 °C and seven grew in media with 1.5 M mannitol. ⺠Identification of Acanthamoeba isolates from soil, swimming pools, and water features. ⺠Presence of potentially pathogenic Acanthamoeba reveals the risk of human infection.
