Abstract
⺠Schistosoma mansoni infection increase cytokines, oxidative stress, liver collagen in mice. ⺠Non invasive markers confirm the antifibrotic, antinflammatory properties of PTX. ⺠PTX as adjuvant with PZQ lower cytokine release, free radicals, collagen deposition. ⺠Clinical studies are important to reach a solid conclusion about the reality of PTX.
