Abstract
⺠The Fasciola hepatica thioredoxin glutathione reductase is a selenoenzyme. ⺠The F. hepatica selenocysteine UGA codon is decoded by a type II SECIS element. ⺠Rabbit vaccination with recombinant TGR produced a 96.7% reduction of the worm burden.
