Abstract
► We hypothesized that Cryptosporidium muris and Cryptosporidium tyzzeri are not infectious for pigs. ► We experimentally infected juvenile and adults pig with both Cryptosporidium spp. ► Parasitological, PCR, immuno- and histological methods were used for evaluation. ► It was revealed, pigs are not susceptible to C. muris and C. tyzzeri infection. ► Rules for future experimental studies to avoid erroneous conclusions were proposed.
