Abstract
⺠The immune response against E. caproni is host species-dependent which may be determinant for the course of the infection. ⺠The local production of IFN-γ and the local inflammatory responses appear to facilitate the development of chronic infection. ⺠The expulsion of E. caproni seems to be related with the development of local Th2 responses.
