Abstract
⺠Cysteine protease (cpb) sequence of several L. aethiopica isolates is reported. ⺠Cysteine protease (cpb) sequences are used as a marker to design L. aethiopica specific PCR primers (V5F/V10R). ⺠V5F/V10R primers amplify specifically from L. aethiopica parasites DNA. ⺠V5F/V10R primers are sensitive enough to detect L. aethiopica from biopsy samples.
